Mohamed is currently a lecturer in Spatial Data Science at the University of Leeds, affiliated with Centre for Spatial Analysis and Policy and Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA). Prior to joining Leeds, he was a postdoctoral research associate in Human Mobility at Turing, supervised by Professor Terry Lyons. He is also the creator and founder of URBAN-i and the AI-embedded camera, called URBAN-i Box. He conducted his PhD at University College London (UCL); his research focused on building a computer vision system for detecting and analysing critical events in cities. He is trained as an architect with BSc in Architectural Engineering and MSc in Urban Development. He has published several journal articles in the field of urban modelling and applied artificial intelligence.
